The Emerald General is now up and ready for action. This is a great imitation of an Emerald Shiner...The profile when wet is perfect...The smallies stand no chance...
This is the SF Sand Eel....This fly has been tested been some salt water gurus and has been proven as a fly that Stripers and Blues can't keep out of their mouths...

Personal Best
I had the pleasure of fishing with my brother and step dad this last weekend. We planned a little smallie float down a great little river in Western NY. Everyone got on fish....all in all about 40 fish were landed between the three of us. A beautiful day, a beautiful little river, family, six Bald Eagles in total and great fishing....what beats that? Mt brother did happen to have one of his best days on the water as well, catching the largest smallie he has ever hooked into on the fly...Congrats...there are many more to come...
I did happen to break my personal best carp record as well...This monster weighed in at 22 pounds....Putting my new gear to the test....The new set up from www.visionflyfishing.com was killer. I used the XLA reel and the Nite 9 1/2ft 8 wt for the rod...The carp didn't even stand a chance...

DPC
The Ditch Pickle Classic....what a great event...catch/photo/release, fly fish only bass fishing at it's finest...My team...The Chronic Basstabators....we rocked it out..Brian Price and his new bass boat...we did what we do...gave it our best and had a great weekend...Some of the best people that I know are fishermen...mainly fly fishermen...it was a great collection of sportsmen from all over getting together and chasing bass on the fly. The proceeds went to a good cause and the event is fun for everyone. I can't wait for next year...Thanks to everyone for making it an awesome weekend...
SF FUGLY PACKER
The one...the only...the king of hair packers...this is a deer hair packer of my design...It has been over a year in the making...many prototypes...many machinists...the struggle to find a metal smith in the USA to make this was unbelievably difficult...but I stuck to my guns and with the help of my Dad...we were able to get a machinist on board to manufacture the tools....
The SF Fugly Packer is proudly made in the USA.....
Made of forged steel, measuring just over six inches long....this is a hair packer like no other. The finger grips help prevent slippage when applying maximum pressure to the compress the hair back on the hook shank...The front edge is ground down to a blade of sorts to allow you to find the hook shank easily even if you pack hair over the eye of the hook. It is easy to compress and the hole in the front will easily accommodate most larger hook sizes. IT is painted with a high gloss, metallic lime green enamel and then clear coated for durability.
You want to pack the tightest bass bug you can...you need the right tools...The SF Fugly Packer has been the reason my bass bugs are as tight as they are....now available at the Super Fly Store.... www.rusuperfly.com

Happy 4th....
A little smallie action this morning...The Lazy Lizard continues to produce...in fact it was the only fly that caught fish today....It will be available on the site by next week...
A fairly slow morning out...but fish were landed....we explored a new section of water...nice enough, but probably won't spend too much time there again...
Somehow I ended up with some kind of heat exhaustion by midday, followed by the worst migraine I have ever had...lots of fluids....then puked them all back up...3 hour nap...a ton of medicine...still feel like my head is being squeezed in a vice...not what I was looking for today....
